Welcome Welcome

Indeed, my first blog was a short, practice welcome. This is a double welcome.

Due to my passion for biodiversity, I decided to start a Biodiversity Documentary company, more or less a few days after I was born. After a little thought, the name Dolphin Spin Films popped into existence.

On a more serious note, my appreciation for biodiversity has been skyrocketing steadily higher and higher as the years go by. Upon researching for the first Dolphin Spin series, the threat to biodiversity that humans pose increased in my knowledge manyfold. We really are in an extinction crisis and it'll only get worse if we don't do something to protect the Biosphere.

Thus, Dolphin Spin Films aims to make series and once-off programmes that will illuminate in everyone's mind the extent of biological diversity, botanical diversity, zoological diversity. The main aim of the programmes will be education, not mere entertainment, and I hope to inspire in Homo sapiens a wish to conserve.

It won't be easy to make these programmes. Currently I've been very stuck due to the presence of the Coronavirus. But the passion still exists, and the number of species seen on television so far is still far, far below the number of species that still need to be filmed. Will we be able to film them, to celebrate them before they are driven to extinction?

I am quite determined to get Dolphin Spin Films going.

Kind regards and thank you for visiting this website,

Oliver, from Dolphin Spin Films

The picture is of a Burchell's Coucal Centropus burchellii! And there are some Plectranthus verticillatus in the background that have just finished flowering.
